A nightmare journey
It was 5 o'clock in the morning, I locked the door and I got in the car with my family. We were going to Schiphol. On our way there was a very large traffic jam causing we missed our flight to Croatia. We decided to book another flight on the same day to Croatia. A view hours later we sat in the airplane, but then something really awful happened. The pilot was getting a heart attack, so we all have to leave the plane. We told all this to our friend and then we could borrow his caravan. We were very grateful for that and went to a camping in Italy. When we arrived, the receptionist told us that there was no space for us so we had to look for something else. We drove around for hours, but we couldn't find something else. We were going back to home but of course something bad happened then. The caravan became detached from the car so we had to wait on the emergency lane for help. When we finally came home we found out that we forgot our key. The neigbors have a spare key, but they weren't home, so we called our grandparents who also have a spare key. They were coming as fast as they could and after three hours we finally sat on the couch at home.

A day I will never forget,
Several years ago, my boyfiend and I were going on a holiday. We had nothing planted and we should just go somewhere, but what happenend I will never forget.

It was december 31 and we were in the maldives. The weather was perfect, just like te view and breakfast. On that day we decided to go snorkeling, so we planned a boat that would take us to a perfect spot. A few hours later we were on the wather snorkeling and spotting some turtles. I can assuere you: it was a wonderfull experience.

Later that day, my boyfriend had a surprise for my. I know I was really curious about what we were going to do, but I just let myself be surprised.

After a while he told me to put my most beautyfull dress on and that I should go to th beach by 10 o'clock. So this is what happened:

When I arrived to the place I saw a romantic table for two. behind the table I saw my boy sitting and waiting for me, so I entered. we had dinner with a view and we talked a lot. eventually he stoot up and asked me if i wanted to Marry him! I thought: OMG yes!

in the end he told me he had planned everything, this hole vacation was a surprise for me! How romantic.

The most frightening day of my life

In the summer of 2014 I was on holiday in Germany. At the last day of our holiday we should go to a zoo. I can’t remember which zoo it was but there were very much animals. My favourite animal was a cheetah and there were 7 cheetah’s in the park. It was a sunny day and I would stay the whole day to look at the cheetahs. At 11 A.M. the animal caretakers should feed the animals. My mum said to the animal caretakers that I was a big fan of cheetahs. They said I could help to feed the animals. I was very happy at that time.
When it was 11 A.M. I went to the caretakers and they got the food out of the cooling. My dad asked them if it wasn’t dangerous but they said that nothing could happen. We walked to the loft, and the animals run to us. My brother asked if the caretakers could go away so that he could make a photo of me. They get out of the loft and then the door wasn’t going open anymore. I was locked up by the cheetah’s which can be very dangerous. I was very scared that they would attack me. When the malfunction was corrected I was able to leave the loft and I was happy again.

A nightmare journey

I lived in Amersfoort with my sister and my mother. At the beginning of class three my mother was told that she had cancer. I found it terrible. From that moment I was afraid that something would happen to her, so I took care of her after school. It was a difficult time.

A day in January 2018 I was in school. Halfway through that day I was taken out of class by the caretaker and he told me that my mother had been rushed to the hospital in Utrecht. I went there immediately with my sister, grandfather and grandmother. My mother was in poor condition. The doctor said her cancer had spread. That was a terrible moment.

After two weeks she was finally allowed to go home again. I was very happy about that. But after a week she died at home in front of me. It was a nightmare that unfortunately came true.

Immediately afterwards, me and my sister had to leave our house, because there were no more adults who lived with us.

During the summer holidays I moved to my father in Werkendam with my sister of course. Now I live here for about 13 weeks.

The most frightening day of my life was my 13th birthday. This day is normally the best day of your life and it was a really good day till the evening. In the morning I had school and it was a normal day I didn't expect that this drama would happen.

It all started on my soccer training. The girls of my team asked me if I also when to the beach with them. I said yes because the weather was really good. So we went to the beach.

On the beach it all went wrong. We heard somebody crying. It was a friend of us. She had a quarrel with a friend of her. He said he would came back with a knife. First we thought that he was gone and that he wouldn't came back but than we saw him on his bike. He had something in his hand. It was a knife! He followed us and we were running on the beach. We saw some boys but they couldn't stop him. I thought I was going to die and I cried: Nooo I don't want to die on my birthday! Fortunately for us we were faster than him so he couldn't take us with his knife.

When I arrived at home I wouldn't tell anything to my parents. I thought that they would be mad but when I saw my mother I burst into tears. I was so in shock. I couldn't call my mom at the moment it happened because I had no phone. I wouldn't forget that feeling. It was a terrible day and I wish nobody a birthday like that.

A day I’ll never forget

It was the 5th of May in 2016, my 12th birthday. We were on vacation in Greece and Italy. When I woke up, we were on a boat that went from Greece to Italy. I felt nauseous because the room my family and I slept in was very small and there were no open windows.

Then we went to the lobby. I got my presents, a new tracksuit and some other things, including a little lamp from my aunt who lives in Athens. We visited her before we got to Italy.

After the presents, the boat got to shore and we got off. We got off and called a taxi to bring us to our bed and breakfast. The B&B was very luxurious, the bed- and bathrooms were really big. We relaxed for a bit and then we went sightseeing in the city. We walked along the water, and bought some delicious Italian ice cream. My mom and I then went to search for a restaurant to eat dinner, while my father and siblings went grocery shopping for the next day.

At dinnertime, we went to a typical Italian restaurant and ate dinner. I couldn’t choose between pizza and pasta, so I shared half a plate of pasta and half a pizza with my mom. It was very delicious. After dinner, we went back to the B&B, showered, and went to bed, because we were very tired.

Unit 3, Narrative P.35: A day I’ll never forget

The day I will never forget, the day my Grandma was cremated.

It was on a Thursday evening when we all came by my grandma for the last time, my aunts: Sabine, Ilona and Emmy, my parents: Dick and Judith and my grandpa. At this evening we toke her jewelry and we closed her coffin. This was the last time I saw my lovely grandma.

On Friday morning, I don’t go to school, because it was the day of my Grandma cremation. We had to go to Vugt, there would be the cremation of my grandma. Everyone was there, the family of my grandma and her friends. Everyone was very emotional. Especially me, I would read a poem, but I couldn’t, I was so sad. After a beautiful shift, my Grandma was going to be cremated.

One week later we go to her birthplace. There have we scattered her ashes.
Myself have saved some ash in an urn, my aunt has saved some ash in her tattoo, that and all te memories with my Grandma is all we have left over of my Grandma.

This day and all the memories with my grandma, I shall never forget!

A day when everything went wrong!

It was 19 december 2018. It was one of the dark days before Christmas. I went to school on my bike.I was cycling when I suddenly must brake. It had frozen that night so the road was a little bit slippery. My bike felt away, and I fell of my bike.
That was an accouncement for what that day will happend.

I came on time at school. Everthing got well that schoolday. But when I had left school I was seeing an robbery in a shopping street. I chase the thief. I followed without the thief noticing me. I called the police and they came with 10 man. But instead of arresting him they arrested me. I had to go to the police station. When I arrived I couldn't tell the real story.

The next day I tell the police what really happend. They could see on the camera images that I didn't thieve anything.
Finally it was allowed to go home. The police officer apologized but I didn't receive any compensation

I had to do it with a nice night in a cell.

A day when everything went wrong

Several years ago i was going to school. It all happened when my brother fell off his bike. He fell and after that I fell to. Every car that came by didn't stop. Very quickly I called my mum and we were going to the doctor.

By the doctor it tooks ages before they helped me. I had a lot of pain. After hours the doctor said i had to go to the hospital. In the hospital it took also a lot of time. I tumbled again that evening and that also hurt a lot.

I had to work that evening and at work there was a very angry customer. I had to help that customer but I couldn't. The customer left very angry. When i got home my mother was also angry.

This was a day of my life where nothing goes how i wanted it.

One day I was walking through our town and saw that they were selling lottery tickets by the bookstore in Sleeuwijk. I bought a ticket and thought maybe I win. When I woke up that morning, the day of the draw of the lottery I was very excited. I looked up the internet or I had won. And yes it was true, I won the lottery. I won 1 million Euros. That day nothing could get wrong. I called my parents and friends to tell them that I won the lottery. I took out my parents and friends for dinner. The whole day I dreamed about what I was going to do with the 1 million Euros. I won yes.
Suddenly I woke up and realised it all was a dream.
Maybe one day I really win the lottery, but now I keep on dreaming and live a happy live. Go to school every day from Monday till Friday, play football at Monday, Thursday and Saturday, play Fifa on the Play Station when I have no homework, deliver the newspaper on Wednesday and
Friday. I just do the normal things a 15 years old boy does. Dreams are allowed, as long as you keep your feet on the ground.
Maybe when I get older I really buy a lottery ticket and win a million Euros. Who will tell?

A Nightmare Journey

Me and my family were about to go on a holiday three years ago. My dad wanted to drive the journey of 1000 kilometres in one take. We went to the south of Austria. Because we took the ride in one take, we needed to get up really early in the morning. But the drive ended up being a real nightmare.

So the day before our departure, we had to go to bed really early. But that didn’t really help. Since you are not tired at that moment and you are really pumped up, you just simply can’t sleep early. So when my parents awaked me at 3 a.m., I was really tired.

The rest all happend in the car. When we were driving on the highway in the Netherlands, we heard a terrible sound. The sound sounded like a really bad flute. It was so loud that you couldn’t sleep thru it. It took us a couple of stops to figure out where the sound came from. It was actually a sound from the roof. The sound came out of the box we had on the roof to carry more stuff. There was a hole in our box. It was 6 a.m. when we finally got rid of the awful sound.

Then, it was really hot that day. Especially in Germany, where we drove most of our kilometres. We had temperatures of over 40 degrees. So we wanted to stay in the car. Close to München, there was a lot of traffic. And after ten hours of straight driving and being in such a small room together, we really got sick of each other.

In the end, the ride took us over seventeen hours. I felt so exhousted when we finally arrived at our destination in Austria. Since then, we always book a hotel for long journeys.

I want to tell you something about the worst day of my life. It was a couple of months ago. I was fifteen years old. It was on a very sunny day in the summer vacation.

It all started in the morning. I woke up at 4 o’clock. I was very panicked. I thought that I had overslept. That day I had an important meeting with my boss, so I couldn’t be late. I couldn’t sleep anymore, because I was too afraid that I forgot my appointment. I was very tired.

After the appointment I went to the city with a couple of friends. We went to H&M. There was a really nice dress, but unfortunately it was no longer in my size. Then I fell for a whole group of people. A lot of people laughed at me.

Later that day we went for some ice cream. I was really looking forward to it, beacause it was a very hot day. I had chocolate ice cream. I was relaxing in the sun when someone bumped into me and my ice cream fell on my new white shirt.

This day couldn’t be worse, but the day wasn’t over jet. When I went home I stepped in dog shit and I bumped my knee against a pole. It was really the worst day of my live.

A day when everything went wrong
It was a beautiful day. It was snowing, the sun was shining and it was Christmas. But my day wasn’t so great as it looks like. When I got up and I was going to the breakfast when I bumped my little toe against the door. Later that day I was going to my friends. We have together a little mobile home where we are having great nights together, but of course I dropped a glass. When I was going home to the Christmas party I felt, because of the snow. The media says that this was the record of how much it has snowed. At 06.00 Pm we were eating with my whole family. I had a dilisiouce steak but with no salt. So I was putting salt over my steak. And then all the salt from the jar felt on my steak, because the jar was broken. And I was like OMG why happens this always to me?! After that we had lighted fireworks when the police come. We got an fine of 200 euros. I thought why? We lighted fireworks in the middle of nowhere , so why is the policy riding here. After that I went to bed.

A day i'll never forget

Several years ago we were on holiday in Spain. Me and my family were at the beach and it was really hot. While I was swimming with my cousin, a woman got a heart attack in while swimming.

Many lifeguards showed up and after a couple minutes, there were also lots of doctors at the woman. Me and my cousin saw it all happen and we felt miserable, because the woman looked awful in the water. We went to the coast and stopped swimming for a time, because we weren't in the mood for it anymore.

In the end the woman had survived by help of the doctors and everyone was happy on the beach. When we went home that day we kept talking about the weird and scary thing that we had experienced that day. Despite all of that, the next day we were in the sea again and acted like nothing happened.

A day I'll never forget

It was my sister's wedding day. It all started at 8 o'clock in the morning. The hairdresser came to do our hair and the makeup artist was there too. My sister looked beautiful and I was and still am so proud of her. After we were all ready for the big day, my sister's fiancé came to pick her up with the wedding car.

We arrived at the village house where they would officially marry each other. It was a very beautiful and special moment. What was quite a highlight was that I was allowed to witness her.
At half past one in the afternoon there was a church service. My father brought my sister to the altar. My little niece brought the rings. That was a very sweet moment.

After the church service we went to the place where the big party was going to be held. First the family members could congratulate my sister and her husband. Then I went to help my sister freshen up. At 6 o'clock in the evening we ate with all family members. It was a delicious three-course dinner.
From half past eight the other guests were welcome. Then the big party could really begin.

it was a very beautiful and special day. It couldn't have been better.

The day that I never forget was on 11 september 2019, ✨

finally after a year of waiting I could go to the concert of Ariana Grande. 😍 I went with my sister and my mother to the ziggo dome in Amsterdam. I went to the ziggo dome and saw a very big line of fans waiting to be in the front row. Some of the fans spend the night there. 😲 luckily I had seats so I didn't have to stand in the big line.😎 First social house started performing. 🎶 then Ella Mai started singing, it was so beautiful. 💟 after Ella Mai we had to wait for Ariana Grande. It took about an hour so we went for some food and drink.😋 Me and my sister also went to get clothes from Ariana Grande. I bought myself a sweater and a shirt. 👕

Finally Ariana Grande came, everyone started screaming and they turned on the flashlight of their phone. 💓 she started with the song A angel cried, it was amazing! 🎤 I was so happy and I couldn't believe she was really singing to me so close. After two and a half hours of loud singing, the last song thank u, next began! 💕My favorite song! but unfortunately I had no longer a voice to sing hahaha.😂 but I didn't care! I sang my lungs out my mouth.😆
At the end I picked up confetti and went back to the boring village of Werkendam.😑

that was the end of the day that I will never forget!

A day when everything went wrong

A few weeks ago, I had a day when everything went wrong. I was on holiday with my family in New York and while we were wandering in the city, I got lost. But that wasn't the only.

When I woke up in the morning I wanted to take a shower. But the water was cold and it didn't became warmer. So I catched a cold. By breakfast I had eaten some crackers with jam and when I wanted to drink a cup of tea, Accidently, I dropped it on the ground and everything was wet.

Around 10 o'clock, we finally went to the city and we went shopping but then I walked outside of a shop and the alarm sounded. I felt me so ashamed. After that we went to a little lunchroom to eat. When I just felt me a little better we went to the sights. When I was photographing a building, my family walked away and so I got lost.

Fortunately, we have cellphones so I called them. After two hours we found each other finally. In the evening we went to a very good restaurant to eat. And when we went back to the hotel, the cartire of our cab deflated. After halve an hour we got into a new cab and so we got back in the hotel. Fortunately I can laugh about it now.

A day when everything went wrong
It was the 11th of July and outside it was very hot. In the morning I had to pick up my report at 9 o’clock. When my alarm rang, I couldn’t open my eyes because I was so tired, so I felt asleep again. At 8:45 I suddenly woke up and realised I had 15 minutes to get at school, but it should take me at least 20 minutes.
I raced downstairs and skipped my morning meal. When I took my bike I fount out I had a flat tyre. So, I got the bike of my dad and went to school. I was about 500 meters away from my school when a car behind me drove into the bike of my dad. The bike was total loss and the owner of the car had to pay a new bike, 15 minutes later all the stuff was fixed, and I was able to continue my way to school by foot. I was about 45 minutes too late that’s why I was sent to the penalty class. When it was 12:00 o’clock I took the bus and went home. When I got home my friend was waiting for me to chill. We went away and I forgot my keys, so I couldn’t enter my home again. I had to wait till my dad was home and I had to explain what happened with his bike, he was mad at me. At 12:00 it was finally possible to go to sleep.

The day I'll never forget is the day I had to pass msy scooter's driving licence.
In the morning at 8 o'clock I waked up and had breakfast then I drived to Hardinxveld and started with the lessons.
First alone and later with 2 other people. We drove a bit around and practiced to drive on a scooter.
The lessons lasted until around 12 o'clock and we had lunch.

After the lunch we rode to the CBR exam centrum in Schelluinen for the exam. I was very nervous, we went to Gorinchem and drove around the city centre. Despite the nervousness it all went very well and I passed the exam.
After the exam my mother and I went to the city hall and we applied for a driver's licence.
A few days later the licence was ready to be picked up.
I'm very joyous with my scooter but I hope I'll pas my car licence in half a year because a car is still better!

We can all remember that one time when you were excited to go on a holiday, but everything went wrong and it became your worst nightmare. I think that you all can remember one, but the journey I was about to make last year became the worst experience ever.

It was very early in the morning and me and my family were about to leave for our holiday. Our flight would leave from Schiphol at 7 o'clock. While we were driving on the highway, close to Amsterdam, the car made weird noises and suddenly stopped. We didn't know what to do, so we had to walk twenty minutes to the airport.

When we finally arrived at Schiphol, we almost missed our flight. After a lot of running we reached the gate on time and luckily we could get in the plane.

Our flight had a stopover in Miami and our flight to LA would leave in a couple hours. We tought that we had enough time to eat something, but we were too late and missed our flight to LA. We had to wait hours and hours at the airport and eventually we were able to fly back to the Netherlands. Unfortunately, we have not had a vacation that summer.

Missing a flight will never ever happen to me again, because I'm way to scared that I will have a horror holiday like this again. It was the worst vacation I ever had, but I've learned a lot from it.

the (un)luckiest day of my life.

on an evening long ago, while i was walking on my way home. I heard a scream so ofcourse like the adventurous young man that i am I went towards the sound. when i got closer i noticed that it was a woman who was screaming, then when i turned around the corner of the street i saw these four men attacking this young lady. so i ran towards them trying to stop them and then all of them pulled a gun on me. but instead of panicking I remained calm and I just kept walking towards them and even though they were shooting at me all of their bullets kept missing me. eventually i got close enough to take on of their guns from them and without hesitating I shot all of them. but that's not how this story ends. no, because i got taken to court because of this incident. i said it was self defense and the women who was assaulted acted as a witness and support my story, but the judges couldn't believe something like this could ever happen. to be fair i don't blame theme. honestly if i wasn't there i wouldn't have believed it myself. after that i got send to jail and i was absolutely horrified, because of the idea that my youth was over. and then i got noticed by the head of a gang. he bailed me out of prison, because he believed my story and thought that someone who can keep calm when he is unarmed and against four gunmen would be perfect for his group of misfits. then i met his gang and we helped protect or fellow italiëns in nepal.

this was the story of both the luckiest and unluckiest man of the entirety of italy.
